ERT® System
The ERT® (Energy Reduction Technology) system represents a major innovation in head protection for extreme sports. Unlike traditional helmets that rely solely on an EPS layer, ERT® adds an additional level of active safety.
At its core is a special layer made of an advanced, highly elastic polymer placed between the outer shell and the inner padding. This structure acts as an intelligent shock absorber with two key functions:
- Linear energy absorption: During a direct impact, the polymer cells compress instantly, absorbing a large portion of the shock wave and reducing the energy that would otherwise reach the EPS core and your skull.
- Reduction of rotational forces: Most bike crashes occur at an angle. Rotational forces are extremely dangerous for the brain. The flexible material allows slight controlled movement between the helmet and the head, redirecting these forces and reducing the risk of concussion.
Main advantages of the ERT® technology:
- Protection during smaller impacts: While EPS activates mainly during strong impacts, the ERT® polymer responds immediately, effectively damping even low‑intensity impacts that happen most often.
- Material memory: Unlike polystyrene, the polymer has shape memory and returns to its original form after absorbing impact.
