At low outside temperatures, the internal pressure of the cartridge decreases with progressive use, and the stove will only work poorly or possibly not at all even if there is fuel in the cartridge. The Primus Winter Gas is cold resistant and improves the performance of the stove with vapor mesh. Vapour Mesh – an absorbent paper inside the cartridge – increases the surface area for the evaporation process of liquid gas. This allows the liquid gas to change its aggregate condition better and faster from liquid to gaseous and a higher pressure inside the cartridge is generated. As a result, the cartridge is suitable even for the most extreme of conditions – the Primus winter gas can be used at temperatures down to -22 °C.
